According to the victim’s wife, the 52-year-old man was biking to a grocery store to pick up a meal for their dinner when a motorist struck him around 10:15 a.m. near the corner of Wilson Avenue and Armstrong Avenue in Great Kills.

The accident remains under investigation. It was reported that the cyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Criminal charges were not immediately filed against the motorist, and it is not clear if any are currently filed.
